Author(s): Emiliano Marino
In the years since it first appeared in hardcover this text has become a standard among self-reliant cruising sailors, boat builders and small-boat enthusiasts. Combining hundreds of finely textured drawings with a witty, wise and philosophical probing commentary, it is as much about repairing, maintaining and understanding sails as it is about making them.
Emiliano Marino is a lifelong sailor and has been making sails since 1974. He has written about sailmaking and sail care in Small Boat Journal and WoodenBoat. Christine Erikson, also a sailmaker, illustrates for Threads, among other magazines.
