In Gil Gilpatrick's 30 years of strip canoe-building experience, he has made over 500 of the beauties. A retired Master Allagash Guide and teacher from Skowhegan, Maine, Gilpatrick is a columnist for Northwoods Sporting Journal. He's also written several books: Building Snowshoes and Snowshoe Furniture, The Outdoor Leader's Handbook, Building Outdoor Gear, Allagash, and The Allagash Guide. He is a member of the New England Outdoor Writers Association.
