Alan Carter was born in Sunderland, UK and emigrated to Australia in 1991. He is a TV documentary director (currently working on Who Do You Think You Are) and wrote Prime Cut while living for a time in Hopetoun, on the south coast of Western Australia. He now lives in Fremantle, WA. Prime Cut is his first novel.
