My Mumand My Dad by Anthony Browne
If you don’t already know Anthony Browne’s books, you should go to the back of Page & Blackmore and introduce yourself to him – his books live in the Picture Book section – you won’t be disappointed. Browne has nearly 40 titles to his name and he is currently the Waterson’s Childrens’ Laureate (2013 – 2015). ‘My Dad isn’t afraid of ANYTHING, even the Big Bad Wolf,’ and the refrain ‘He’s all right, my dad.’, is repeated throughout the My Dad book. My Mum ‘... is a good fairy. When I’m sad she can make me happy.’ The refrain here, in My Mum, is ‘She’s really nice, my mum.’ All Anthony Browne’s books are superb and the illustrations are completely wonderful. These two titles will be winging their way to Miss Two for Christmas – the perfect age for My Dad and My Mum. Check Anthony Browne out: I am sure you will enjoy his books! - Marie
