In a lifetime dominated by adventure enterprises such as mountaineering and scouting, and performing in swimming, cycling and distance running events, Jack Ede has achieved eight first ascents, climbed Mt Cook/Aoraki, Tasman and Mitre Peak twice each and Mt Aspiring thrice. In doing so he has survived falls, avalanches, cold rivers, illness and major surgery, and has fed his ever burning curiosity by visiting, with his wife, Alecia, seventy countries. Jack published his first book, Mountain Men of Milford, in 1989 (now out of print) now brings us his light-hearted and humour-laced life story, with particular focus on his outdoor adventures.
