Audio Books

A hoax backfires when the hoaxer is destroyed by his invented character.

In Melbourne in the 1940s a young poet named Christopher Chubb decides to teach the country a lesson about pretension and authenticity, and submits an entire oevre of a fictious, dead poet. The work immediately causes a scandal for its sexual frankness but is also heralded as an important work and a real man steps into the identity of the invented poet and a horrified Chubb is confronted by the malevolent being he has himself created.
